Sometimes I worry that I don’t eat enough vegetables, but then I remember that Black Sabbath is still alive and consequences are a myth.
The Silent Majority
I haven’t heard or thought much about this album in probably at least fifteen years. Apropos of nothing, several songs from it have been getting stuck in my head lately, and it’s very confusing.
I had a super fun time briefly sharing the stage with @alexkoll, @BVPcomedy, @julianvelard, and @HarMarSuperstar at @UnionHallNY last night!

I’m still not clear on what is to be gained by shocking the monkey.
Today is not a competition, but with amazing new releases from Lightning Bolt and Liturgy, Thrill Jockey Records is winning.
Everything about this animated profile of Mark Mothersbaugh is fantastic (except that it is all too brief). youtu.be/19Vdsi4hvRk
Working from home. Neighbor blasting 4 Non Blondes’ “What’s Up?” on repeat. Poll: murder or suicide?
Today I learned that Andy Samberg was the monkey in James Kochalka Superstar’s classic “Monkey Vs. Robot” video. youtu.be/k1Csif5l_6c
Reviewing my dinner party invitee list. Let’s see, there’s Cube, Eazy, Ren, Yella… Crap, I forgot about Dre.

Needs more cowbell.
Got my Faith No More tickets. Expensive. Hope it’s good. If not, at least I already satisfied my reunion criterion: twitter.com/robweychert/st…

For the next four hours, speaking to me implies consent to getting an infuriated earful about concert ticket surcharges.
Ten years ago today, we lost Dimebag Darrell. That sucked.
One of the parts of music history I don’t like is when Dennis DeYoung and Keith Richards never formed a supergroup called Styx & Stones.

Guy on the sidewalk raises his cane as I approach. Will he attack? No, he’ll play it like a guitar. “ZZ Top ain’t got nothin’ on you, boy!”
If you haven’t seen Prince’s SNL performance yet, there really isn’t a better way to start your week. hulu.com/watch/707975
I walk down city streets of an unsuspecting human world. Inhuman in your midst, this world is mine to own.

“This sounds like unjustly angry little men in cloaks.” @ChamberMonster is not a fan of Skeletonwitch.
Somehow I never knew Asia was a supergroup that included John Wetton, who sings on my favorite King Crimson album. Seems so obvious now!
I saw dozens of great shows there over the years. My first: H2O, 1996. My last: Mission of Burma, 2008.

A friend once said that early Skinny Puppy sounded like “someone left Depeche Mode out on the counter overnight,” which I think is a perfect description. I don’t think he meant it as a compliment, but I do.
Sometimes you make me want to build a model of the Eiffel Tower out of Belgian waffles.
