The Seventh Victim
When my charred corpse lies still in the midst of the devastation wrought by my final rampage, tell them the car alarms made me do it.

Sorry, folks, I messed up the math so I deleted this tweet. It’s actually .7%. Still a lousy showing, but not as bad as I made it out to be.
Pretty much all you need to know about me is that I’m very conflicted about people who can really nail that Barenaked Ladies song at karaoke

New Nightmare
There is now no good way to filter your library by composer (among other useful data categories), which is a real bummer.
I get why Apple took the Artist/Album/etc filters out of the Songs view in the desktop version of Music (née iTunes) but I wish they hadn’t.

Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare
The Misfits
For most of their existence, and especially since the market for recorded music collapsed, the Misfits have been more of a fashion brand than anything, their logo adorning virtually any object that could conceivably accessorize with a shade of Manic Panic or a pair of Doc Martens. The unlikelihood of a proper Misfits reunion stemmed from the decades-long feud between founding members Glenn Danzig and Jerry Only over how those sweet merch profits should be… See more →

New Sounds Live
Finally saw my first live performance of Steve Reich’s “Music for 18 Musicians”… in the middle of a shopping mall. Capitalism rubs it in.
I only just learned of this Friday’s NYC premiere of Glenn Danzig’s Verotika and it is sold out and I’ve never felt like more of a failure.

Lake Mungo
Like many ghost stories, Lake Mungo is about grief, its apparitions manifestations of its characters’ inability to accept their loss; and like many ghost stories, its emotional core is overshadowed by its spook factor. And that’s fine. Lake Mungo’s misstep is in its approach to being a mystery thriller, loaded with nonsensical twists and arbitrary red herrings, none of which coalesce into a remotely satisfying resolution. At one point, a woman who has spent… See more →

Robtober 2019
A month’s worth of movies to help you stay awake
Every October, I put together a big schedule of horror films, most of which I haven’t seen before. Films and dates (all subject to change) are listed for any friends who want to join me, and ticket links are included for public screenings.
This year, I’ve set aside a weekend to plow through the entire Nightmare on Elm Street series (I’ve only ever seen the first three). I’m also finally finishing off (the current version… See more →
I came on here to complain about inconsequential bullshit and now I find out Kim Shattuck passed away. 😞
Animation fans: here are my notes on every film in the short film competition at @OIAF_Animation, and more: v6.robweychert.com/blog/2019/10/o…
The shuffle just followed 00’s-era Scott Walker with ’80s-era Berlin and it… kinda worked?
