2019 Ottawa International Animation Festival
I made my annual voyage north this past weekend for the Ottawa International Animation Festival. Forsaking any notion of downtime, I made it to 12 screenings in the space of 48 hours this year. Below are my notes on each of the 56 films in the short film competition, as well as four of the features in competition, and a handful of other screenings. Links are provided to films and trailers when available, with embeds… See more →
Today I learned that darts is a televised sporting event. Slow motion promos and everything. Thousands of spectators.
if i were a brand consultant i’d suggest the tsa change its name to the much more direct and exciting “dystopia now!”
remember last week? we were so young
so much talk lately about this guy joe biden who is apparently the president of vice media?
Thanks to the guy on the C train blaring “Kung Fu Fighting” on repeat, I knocked out my quadrennial KFF listening quota in a single morning!
The brief eternity of unsolicited beard advice I got last night was a godsend because I just woke up with this thing on my face yesterday.
If we must have design competitions, let’s have more jurors like @danmall who are willing to look beyond the surface. danmall.me/articles/comma…

Last week @funsize generously donated a week of great design work to @propublica. I’m excited to start developing the ideas they generated!
So this is my day. Tune in to see if some of my old @Harmonix buddies and I are still any good at Beatles Rock Band after 10 years! twitter.com/alex_navarro/s…
