A bit mawkish for my taste, but this is some great visual storytelling, and I love the look of it. Also, I refuse to believe that Chipotle doesn’t rely heavily on industrial agriculture.

Copies of this book were confiscated and destroyed by the tens of thousands with the result that few originals survived the war and fewer yet survived complete and in good condition.

I’m not sure there has ever been a subject more deserving of a documentary probe than this one.

I’m sure a filmmaker who hadn’t already made his name on the back of the corporate machine would have no difficulty independently marketing and distributing his shitty films to the level of success that awaits Kevin Smith’s heroic new venture. After all, what “masturbating stoner” doesn’t already have over a million Twitter followers?

Travis’s vocals on “What Do You Want Me to Say” are kind of terrible, but they sound fucking great otherwise. Can’t wait to see them next week.

I remember a particular C&H strip that I loved which used snowmen in a satire of the supposed boundary between “high” and “low” art. I have the complete collection but have never been able to find it. If this search engine is comprehensive, then my memory is disappointingly defective.

I wish I could find a way to adequately express how awesome and important Don Hertzfeldt is.

I’m really looking forward to this. I played the hell out of YDKJ in the late ’90s and it’s only improved with age. I do wish they could have kept doing the web version with weekly episodes and daily Dis or Dats, and I’m surprised the new version won’t be available on iOS. But whatever, I’m glad it’s back. Oh, and see if you can beat my $19,889 score on the sample game. :)

Subject matter wise, this is timely for me, but I think I’d have found it just as affecting even if that weren’t the case. Wonderful textures, beautifully told story.

In a career like this, it’s interesting to try to pinpoint the moment when the question changes from "How can I keep doing stuff I love to do?" to "How can I keep people paying attention to me?"

As always, this is essential year-end viewing.

For months, Ms. Rodriguez was unable to get much traction with any of the law enforcement entities she had called as she coped with Mr. Borker’s verbal and written attacks. Now, there seems to be a competition to punish him.
