Battledecks Testimonial and Contest

To introduce their 2011 Battledecks event, my pals at Mule Design asked me to do a little testimonial video about my past experience with Battledecks, and I’ve decided to turn the product into a contest. It goes like this:

There are fifty-five album covers visible on my screen saver (spanning both screens) in the background of this video. How many can you identify?

Instructions and rules

  1. E-mail the list of covers you’ve identified to [rob@robweychert.com](mailto:rob@robweychert.com?subject=Flickr Contest) with the subject line “Flickr Contest”.
  2. One entry e-mail per person. When you submit, you commit. No additions or changes to your list are allowed.
  3. There is no minimum to enter, so don’t be discouraged if you can only identify a handful of albums. However, submitting a list of more than fifty-five albums will result in disqualification.
  4. Please don’t post answers in the comments.

The prize

The person who correctly identifies the greatest number of album covers will receive a song tailored to the topic of their choice, written and recorded by me, with custom album artwork. In the extremely unlikely event that someone manages to correctly identify all fifty-five albums, I will have a vinyl pressing of the song made and hand-deliver it to their home or other specified location, anywhere in the world.

The deadline for entries is 11:59 PM EDT on April 1st (this is not an April Fool’s joke). The winner will be announced the following Monday, April 4th. Good luck!

UPDATE: Winner announced and album covers revealed!

Album Cover Contest Dénouement

My album cover contest has come to a close and the scores have been tallied. Contestants received a half point for each artist correctly identified and a half point for each album, making the highest possible score 55 points.

And the winner is... Raul Gutierrez!

Combining his own considerable musical knowledge with that of several friends, as well as incorporating some clever cyber-sleuthing techniques, Raul was able to at least partially identify a whopping forty-four… See more →
