I tweeted that one of my all-time favorite albums was coming to Rock Band soon, and apparently the fans were watching. This is one of at least two forum discussions with dozens of posts that are scouring my web site and last.fm account for clues as to what the album might be. Kinda creepy but mostly funny.
One of my all-time favorite albums comes to Rock Band soon. The many adolescent hours I spent studying its drum parts have finally paid off.
Pretty much any time someone mentions Regina Spektor, I think they're talking about Ronnie Spector, and I start thinking about Eddie Money.
Between a Bill & Ted double feature and the State of the Union address, the former is more life-affirming, so my choice is made.
The only time I saw Howard Zinn speak was in a crowded office space in summer with no AC. So much better than nothing. RIP Howard Zinn.
There comes a time on every Apple announcement day, good or bad, that I'm ready for everyone to just shut the fuck up. That time is now.
Seeking the intersection of "have to" and "want to".
A Faster Horse
Exactly.
It's funny how photos of Apple prototypes in 2010 are of the same quality as photos of the Loch Ness Monster in 1934.

Worst part about bicycling in winter: At night, my black gloves make my middle finger invisible.

Realism
Finally got around to listening to Fever Ray, which is more similar to The Knife than I expected, which means it's great.

Checked in on The Office to see if it had improved, and was greeted by a clip show. Really? TV still does that?

Conan O'Brien is the only late night talk show host I ever found particularly funny. Also, Taylor Dayne was the female Eddie Vedder.

Wait a minute. I'm designing for the screen, but not the web. Well, hello there, vertical grid!
The Boys Are Back in Town
Dust jackets establish books' visual identities, yet are only marginally attached, and must be removed for comfortable reading. Poor design.
Taliban Overhaul Their Image in a Bid to Win Allies
The dictates include bans on suicide bombings against civilians, burning down schools, or cutting off ears, lips and tongues.
Can any bibliophiles out there explain to me how dust jackets are not obnoxiously superfluous?

Windhammer Gone Soft
The debut performance from my big score in this year's Secret Santa, created by the amazingly talented Kim Cornell.
Found a photo of Dick Cheney smiling. Don't think I ever saw that before. It's one of most unnatural things I've seen. Looks like it hurts.
Thought process during soup selection: "I'll get the broccoli cheddar, so I can kind of pretend I'm not slowly killing myself."

Stress Relief
The beer was a blessing in disguise. The shrill trio adjacent me on this bus have finally succumbed to a more literal slumber party.
On a Bolt Bus masquerading as a Peter Pan. Maybe an important revolutionary is onboard, who the Feds think is on a Bolt. Vive la Résistance!
Cancer Cannon
Overheard: "I'm trying to talk quietly because I'm on a bus."

Jay Reatard, 29, a Force in Punk Rock, Is Dead
"I’m just trying to get the idea out before the inspiration is gone," he told The Times last year. "Everything I do is motivated by the fear of running out of time."

Sometimes the most obvious solution is the right one, like, you just know Siouxsie Sioux's ringtone is "Hong Kong Garden".

Never underestimate the lengths to which I'll go to make fun of my friends. This has been about 90% complete for more than two years. I think its time has just about come.

A week into my daily video project, I've twice relied on footage I shot months ago. Not bad, but I can't make it a habit. flickr.com/photos/robweychert…

When Indie-Rock Genres Outnumber the Bands
I might have hoped increased variety and decreased commercial potential might have made me more interested in the critical darlings of "indie rock" instead of less. I’d suggest it has something to do with my fondness for creative constraints, but many of my favorite artists have made a career out of eschewing genre conventions. Hmm.

Alone in a crowded diner. Mimosa. Omelette. Mushrooms, peppers, onions, mozarella, marinara. Steve McQueen. The Beatles. Happy new year.
