Are Oui Phony??
Sure, neighbor, 2pm seems as good a time as any to put out the trash for tomorrow.

Blank Generation
Andrew W.K. is probably the only person from whom I will tolerate the use of "party" as a verb.
Having the same trouble with The Big Chill as I do with Woody Allen movies: It's really well done but it's more grown up than I want to be.
My beard has been rated 9.5/10 on Beard Revue. I'll add that to the goals list and check it off. beardrevue.com/2008/07/rob-we…

OnOffOn

Q: Are We Not Men? A: We Are Devo!
Anyone know of Mac software that converts selected text to speech and saves as MP3 for later listening? If not, free idea for developers...
Saddened by censorship.
Registering my body's post-Guy-Weekend complaints of mistreatment.
If the screaming child across the street should suddenly fall silent, do not consider this a confession.
Still feeling pretty good about the group of twelve-year-olds we eviscerated with paintballs this afternoon.
Hydrating myself in the hopes of offsetting the hangover likely to besiege me when I need to shoot my friends with paint in a few hours.
Guy Weekend has begun.
Unplugging my fan to use my printer, thanks to both the manufacturer of the printer's 24" power cable and the genius that wired my home.
Has it always been a tenet of professionalism to just wordlessly cut off your involvement in a correspondence that no longer interests you?
Really impressed with the Silverback video demo I just watched. Bravo, ClearLeft, and congrats on the launch! silverbackapp.com
Are there really still people that don't know that John Lydon is a consummate asshole?
Brokenhearted over the unfeasibility of me attending any of the Shudder to Think reunion shows. Fingers crossed for more dates.
Revisited The Lost Boys, glad to have my memory refreshed on that beefcake singer/sax-player's moves: youtube.com/watch?v=PIU52Yeogdk
From the looks of most public men's room floors, you'd think we were asked to piss in a thimble from twenty feet away.
Confirmed for some curious youngsters that I am a hippy.
Trying to create a narrative with a mix CD tracklist, which feels uncomfortably similar to fan fiction.
Found my old photos of myself with Metallica, and posted them on Flickr for your amusement: flickr.com/photos/robweychert…
Adding some hardcore shows from the '90s to my Last.fm event archive, using hardcoreshowflyers.com as a memory aid.
Planning on a relaxed day with my good friends air conditioning and Dashiell Hammett.
Bothered by people who assert their affection for something by throwing money at it.
Wishing I was at TypeCon.

Stay Positive
"Cast of 300 Advises Obama on Foreign Policy" is a misleading headline, to say the least. nytimes.com/2008/07/18/us/pol…
The Favrd leaderboard works kind of like the US economy: It helps the people with the largest audiences get even bigger audiences.
Stopped sharking a minute to get chips and drinks.
Finally jumping into the del.icio.us pool, immediately annoyed that it truncates my notes without a warning or a specified character count.
Glaring at a bug in iTunes 7.7 that borks non-standard characters in pre-2.4 ID3 tags. At 3am. Somehow I'm not celibate. discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa…
Weird. iPhone's Maps app thinks I'm currently on my old block. Did it trace the registration address on my Airport Express?
For Whom the Bell Tolls

I recently started using the Rating feature in iTunes, and sometimes it can be an interesting visual representation of what I already know. You don't even need to look at the full-size image of this chronological list of Metallica albums to see what the Rating column on the far right has to say about the band's consistency over the years.
Failing to recall where I put those old photos of me and Metallica.
Had a lovely evening of beverages and conversation with @meyerweb, @stefsull, @notasausage, and @danielmall.
Found myself in an AP photo for an article about the Gregor Mendel exhibit I visited, and its attempt to reunite science and faith. Ugh.
Alright, who slipped me the drug that makes me wake up with that wretched Counting Crows version of "Big Yellow Taxi" stuck in my head?
Almost ready to start switching back to the superior web app alternatives to some of these new iPhone apps.
I don't know why they're called deviled eggs when they clearly come from heaven.
Contractors: 2. Problems solved: 0.
When a man decides to hit up a Chik-fil-A drive-thru for lunch, he's in a dark place. You just leave him be.
Some guy just drove up, took a photo of my house, and sped off. This can only indicate good things coming my way.
Fuck me, I totally forgot today is Free Slurpee Day! Alright Philly, who's joining me on the fast track to diabetes?

No One Belongs Here More Than You
Alphabetical iTunes frontrunners so far: Artist: A-Ha (33%). Album: Abbey Road (11%).
Alphabetically, my first artist in iTunes is A-Ha; my first album is Absolutely the Best (Lead Belly). What are yours?
Now that a thunderstorm is actually happening, I really hope the weather experts are having a boy-who-cried-wolf experience with it.
Confirmed over lunch that Family Guy is still not funny.
Note to self: Prolonged visits to the library require layers. - bkite.com/00T1A
The generous coat of stain the sun applied to my legs ends abruptly at the sock line, making my chalk-white feet appear to be detachable.

Drinking terrible beer in a parking lot with some of my oldest friends.

Tres Hombres
Has anyone used iVolume or know of any other good alternatives to Sound Check in iTunes?
Thanks all for the postcard vendor recommendations. Looks like overnightprints.com has the optimal combo of good, cheap, quick, and low-run.
Recommendations for reasonably priced, good quality, fast turnaround online postcard printing services?
If it requires a spoon to eat, it is part of the beard's diet.
Is it just me, or is it increasingly fashionable for restaurants to serve sandwiches that require a complicated strategy to consume?
When much of what you do relies on a computer, it's problematic that the days you don't touch your computer tend to be your most productive.
